Web server in the DMZ. The same “meetingplace.company.com”
will direct users who are connected to the corporate internal
network to the IP address associated with the internal
MeetingPlace Web server.
If you cannot accommodate segmented DNS, you will need to
add a second “Click to Attend” URL in the notification templates,
with one link pointing to the MeetingPlace Web server in the
DMZ and the other to the internal MeetingPlace Web server.
Segmented DNS Configuration
The segmented DNS configuration requires two independent
DNS servers (one for internal and one for DMZ). This
configuration enables one URL to work for all users. If any e-
mail gateways are used, there would be one “Click to Attend”
URL for all users.
The URL for MeetingPlace Web should resolve to the IP
address of the internal MeetingPlace Web server for internal
users.
The same URL should resolve to the IP address of the
external MeetingPlace Web server in the DMZ for external
(Internet) users.
Non-Segmented DNS Configuration
The non-segmented DNS configuration requires one DNS server
for internal host name resolution only. This configuration requires
two different URLs, one for each MeetingPlace Web server. If
any e-mail gateways are used, and the “Click to Attend” URL is
enabled, the notification templates would need to be customized
to include two URLs; one for internal and one for external users.
The URL for MeetingPlace Web should resolve to the IP
address of the internal MeetingPlace Web server for internal
users.
