Chapter 10 WebConnect
WebConnect Configuration
This section assumes that you have already installed
MeetingPlace Web.
Before you start configuration, make sure that User Groups,
Meeting Categories, and User Profiles have been synchronized on
internal and dedicated external sites participating in a rollover
map. If this is not done, rolled meetings will fail.
Steps for updating user groups follow. Any new User Groups
created in MeetingPlace will automatically replicate from
MeetingPlace to the SQL Server database.
About User Groups
A profile can either be active, inactive, or the value may be Group
Default, in which case it depends on the value of the group that
the profile belongs to. When using groups, it’s important that
attribute values in user profiles are set to “Group Default” and not
Note: If you do not have Directory Services installed, refer to the
Importing User Profile and Group Information
 section in the
MeetingPlace 2001 System Manager’s Guide for manual profile
synchronization procedures. This section begins on page 3-16.
Note: Meeting Categories must be manually synchronized
between two MeetingPlace servers, otherwise meeting searches
by a specified Meeting Category will not work properly.
Important: Before you begin scheduling meetings using
WebConnect, make sure that user profile time zone settings are
changed to the appropriate time zones for that user. Default time
zone settings may use the “localtime” setting, which could cause
rolled meetings to be scheduled for a different time of day than
the requested time. The proper time zone setting as well as all
other profile information MUST be identical for each user across
all Internal and Dedicated External sites.
