Upgrading an Existing
MeetingPlace Web
This appendix describes the upgrade procedures to preserve the
database used by the previous version of MeetingPlace Web. The
procedures for upgrading MeetingPlace Web depend on the
number of MeetingPlace user licenses you have purchased.
Upgrading MeetingPlace Web (fewer than 480 user licenses)
If your MeetingPlace system has fewer than 480 user licenses,
you can use the SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine as your SQL
Server. The installation program will automatically install SQL
Server 2000 Desktop Engine if it does not detect the full
Microsoft SQL Server on the Windows server.
Upgrading MeetingPlace Web (480 or more user licenses)
If your MeetingPlace system has 480 or more user licenses, install
SQL Server 7.0 (with Service Pack 3) or SQL Server 2000 before
upgrading to MeetingPlace Web. You may install SQL Server on
the same system as MeetingPlace Web or on a remote server. You
will be given a choice during the install to select a local or remote
server.
Note: The Microsoft Upsizing Wizard utility converts the pre-
4.1.3 MeetingPlace Web database (called mpweb301.mdb) from
Access format to the SQL format database (called mpweb.mdf)
which is used by 4.1.3 or later releases of the MeetingPlace Web
gateway. Please contact your MeetingPlace Support
Representative for instructions to upgrade from a pre-4.1.3
version of MeetingPlace Web.
