How Meeting Guard Time Minutes and Meeting ID Guard Times Interact
Meeting guard time minutes and meeting ID guard times are additive for
meeting ID purposes. For example, if the Start and End guard times are both
set for 10 minutes, the meeting itself is scheduled for an hour, and the Start
and End meeting ID guard times are set to 10 minutes, the time reserved for
the meeting ID is one hour and forty minutes.
Commonly Asked Questions About Schedules
The most common questions about MeetingPlace schedules are:
Q.  Why can’t I schedule back-to-back meetings?
A.  Start and End guard times are probably not set to zero.
Q.   How can I ensure that users hear or see ‘The meeting has not yet started’
rather than ‘That is not a valid meeting ID’ if they call or log in too early.
A.  Set the meeting ID Start/End guard times to be large values, such as 60
minutes.
Q.  I want a permanent meeting that never goes away, even if everyone
hangs up.
A.  Schedule the meeting with the frequency field set to Continuous. (Note
that continuous meetings can’t be recorded.) This setting is useful when, for
example, an all-day meeting is planned and users will take breaks. To cancel
the meeting click End Mtg. on the In-Session tab.

Note: MeetingPlace allows 1000 continuous meetings to be in
progress at any given time.
Managing Capacity
MeetingPlace offers various tools to help you monitor and manage the use of
your system. These capacity management tools generate charts that provide a
graphical overview of system statistics.
By tracking usage on your MeetingPlace system you can:

Manage your daily operation by understanding individual meeting and
port usage throughout each day.

Monitor your capacity utilization to determine whether your system is
being used efficiently and effectively.
Measure the service levels you are providing to MeetingPlace users.
Efficient use of system resources can prevent scheduling failures, which will
ensure quality of service and end user satisfaction.
