Enabling Management Services
Use the Management Services page to enable and disable the available types of 
management connections. By default, HTTP access is enabled. 
You can also enable management access through Telnet, SSH, and SNMP. The 
user names and passwords that you configure for HTTP access also apply to the 
Telnet and SSH services. (For instructions on configuring SNMP users and

To configure management connections:
STEP 1
Click Administration > Management Services in the navigation window.
STEP  2
Select the management connection types you want to make available.: 
HTTP—Enables access to the web-based switch configuration utility. 
Telnet—Enables access via Telnet. 
SSH—Enables access through Secure Shell. Select the SSH versions you 
want to enable. 
SNMP—Enables SNMP client capability on the switch. See

additional information on configuring SNMP access.
Only access through HTTP is enabled by default. The user names and passwords 
that you configure for HTTP access also apply to the Telnet and SSH services. For

STEP  3
If you enable HTTP access, enter the logical port number to use, from 1025 to 
65535. The default is port 80.
STEP  4
If you enable SSH access, specify the maximum number of concurrent SSH 
sessions. The default is 2 sessions.
STEP  5
Click Apply. Your changes are saved to the Running Configuration.
