Backing Up the Key Files to Tape
Complete the following steps under these circumstances:
You are backing up the key files of the DNCS to a tape in the DNCS, itself
You are backing up the key files of the Application Server to a tape in the
Application Server, itself
If you are backing up the key files of the Application Server to a tape in the DNCS,
use the procedure in Backing Up the Key Files to a Remote Host Computer (on page
23), instead.

1 Insert the blank tape into the tape drive of the DNCS or Application Server,

whichever server you are backing up, and wait for the green light to stop
flashing.
2 Type /cdrom/cdrom0/s3/backup_restore/backupKeyFiles -v and then press
Enter. The system backs up the DNCS or Application Server key files and

Backing Up the Key Files to a Remote Host Computer
Complete the following steps to back up the DNCS or Application Server key files to
a tape in another computer—commonly referred to as a remote host computer.

shell) to the host computer without being prompted for a password.
