The new DMP should:
•
Belong to the same groups and zones.
•
React to the zone/group state actions.
•
Display the same content as the DMP its replaces.
Solution:
1. Unplug the failed DMP and replace it with a new DMP.
2. Wait until auto-registration/provisioning completes, and the new DMP shows in
the dashboard with state 'Ready'.
3. In the control panel un-map the old DMP from its Location, and map the new
DMP to this Location.
4. From the control panel manually stage content to the new DMP.
5. Verify that the new DMP is showing the expected content.
6. Delete the failed DMP from Cisco StadiumVision Director. This DMP will be
named as "Unassigned-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx", where xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx is the MAC
address.
address.
Configuring CDP in the DMP
The DMP, starting with firmware version SE 2.2.1 build 1932, supports Medianet
services, which includes Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP). This capability allows the
switch and DMP to learn about each other by exchanging CDP messages. At the
switch CLI, the show cdp neighbor command displays the DMPs that are connected
to the switch. This information can be very useful when troubleshooting DMP
issues.
