Vendors and 
Customers

The account has a zero balance. 

■ 

All transactions have been cleared. For more information on 
clearing data, see “Clearing Old Information from Simply 
Accounting” in Chapter 23.

There are no outstanding orders or quotes. 

■ 

  For vendors, you have printed the T5018 slips for the 

end of the reporting period.  

■ 

  For vendors, you have printed the 1099 Miscellaneous 

Income forms at the end of the calendar year. 

Employees 

■ 

The employee has repaid any advances. 

■ 

You have printed the Employee Summary and Detail 
reports at the end of the calendar year. 

■ 

  You have paid the employee’s vacation pay. 

■ 

  You have printed a T4 slip and a Relevé 1 slip (Quebec 

only) for the employee. 

■ 

  You have printed the T4 Summary report and Relevé 1 

Summary report (Quebec only) at the end of the calendar 
year.

  You have printed the W-2 forms, and the 940 and 941 

Summaries at the end of the calendar year. 

Inventory and Service 
Items

The quantity on hand is zero (this does not apply to 
services).

You have no outstanding purchase or sales orders for the
