Remove the following assemblies.

ADF assembly. See

Scanner glass and cover. See

Remove two grounding screws and wires (callout 1), disconnect one connector (callout 2), and
remove one screw (callout 3).

  Removing the lamp

For better access to the lamp, release the optical assembly by loosening the tension screw,
disengaging the belt, and flexing the side of the unit to release the rod.

Unwrap the lamp wires from the plastic wire guide.

Grasp the scanner lamp, and carefully slide it out of the optical unit (towards the cable end).
