Before removing the USB/power connector board, follow these steps:

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the

computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and

then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see 

Remove the following components:

. Optical drive (see

. Switch cover (see 

. Keyboard (see 

. Speaker assembly (see 

)

Display assembly (see 

)

. Top cover (see 

Remove the USB/power connector board:

Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws (1) that secure the USB/power connector board to the

computer.

Release the USB/power connector board (2) as far as the USB/power connector board cable will

allow.
