Alerts and Alarms

Safety Checks
The OmniPod System has a very important safety feature: It can
check its own functions and let you know when something
needs attention. When you turn on the Personal Diabetes Man-
ager (PDM), the System automatically performs a series of safety
checks. (Refer to Page 54 for detailed instructions. The ID screen
must be confirmed before you can check Pod status.) To make
you aware of a serious or potentially serious condition, the Sys-
tem sounds an alarm and displays an on-screen message. The
message has instructions for taking care of the alarm condition.

you attend to them promptly.

Blood Glucose Meter Alerts
These alerts let you know about an error in the blood glucose
meter, test strip, sample, or results. The PDM beeps and displays
an error message number, as in Figure 10-1.
