b) Installation site

•  Install the product in such a way that it is out of reach of children.

•   Do not install the product near garden ponds, bathing pools or fountains.

•   The product may only be operated in a stationary position. Otherwise it can topple
over during operation allowing water to penetrate. This poses a risk of fatal electric
shock!

•   The product should not be installed and operated in flood risk areas. The same ap-
plies to areas (e.g. troughs), in which rainwater can collect.

•   Unwrap the power cable fully during use.

•   The power cable should not be squashed or damaged by sharp edges. Do not place
any any objects onto the power cable. Do not stand on it and never drive vehicles
over the power cable. Lay the cable so that no one can accidentally trip over it and
so that the plug is easily accessible.

•   Operation in areas with high level of dust, flammable gases, vapors or solvents is not
authorized. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
c) Use and operation

•   Only connect the garden socket to one of the correct protective contact power sock-
ets of the public power supply. This power socket must be equipped with an all-pole
separator from the power supply (e.g. residual current circuit breaker)

A power socket which at least corresponds to IP44 should be used for operation in
the outer area.

•   The product is splash proof (IP44) and may be permanently installed and operated in
the outside area. However, never point the water jet of a garden hose, an irrigation
system or a high pressure cleaner onto the product.

•   The product should never be handled, operated, plugged in or unplugged with damp
or wet hands. The same applies when connecting power sockets to the sockets of
the product. This poses a risk of fatal electric shock!

•   Never pull the power plug of the garden socket or the connected device by the cable
from the power socket.. Hold the plug on the side gripping surfaces and pull it from
the power socket.

•   Never block the flaps over both sockets or the transparent flap over the timer. Allow
the flaps to automatically close during non usage with the integrated springs.

•   If devices, connection or extension cables remain in the outdoor area (e.g. lamps,
water pumps), this must be suitable for this. Note the operating instructions.

•   Never overload the product. Take into account the maximum installed power in the
chapter “Technical Data”.

•   Do not plug behind each other. This can lead to an overloading of the garden socket.
This poses a fire hazard!

Stick the protective contact mains plug directly into a wall power socket. Do not
connect any other multiple power outlet strips to the garden socket (e.g. cable drum
with several sockets).

•   Do not operate covered! In case of higher installed loads the garden power outlet
and the connecting cable warm up, which could cause overheating or even fire if the
product is covered.

•  Zero potential only if plug is disconnected!

•   Do use the product if it is damaged (e.g. casing, power cable, timer). This poses a risk
of fatal electric shock!

If damaged, dispose of the product in an environmentally friendly manner.

Safe operation is no longer guaranteed when:

  -   The product shows visible damage (e.g. if the flaps over the sockets or the timer
are damaged or can no longer close)

  -   The product no longer works or does not work correctly (smoke emitted or smell
of burning, audible crackling noises, discolorations on the product or adjoining
surfaces)

  -  the product was stored in unfavorable conditions

  -  if the product was damaged during transport.

•  Use the product in temperature climates only, do not use in the tropics.

•   Always pull the power plug out of the power socket before cleaning the product or
when not using it for a long period.

•   For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations for
electrical systems and equipment of the government safety organization or the cor-
responding authority for your country.

•   If you have any further questions that have not been considered in these operating
instructions, please contact us or any other expert.
Preparing installation
Please note the chapter “Safety Instructions” in this instruction manual.
•  Please ensure the correct installation position of the garden socket. This may only be operated
vertically (cable must be lie underneath).
•  The garden socket must be operated in a stationary position.
•  Only install the garden power outlet on a horizontal, level, stable surface e.g. concrete or stone
floor. Use screws and wall anchors that are suitable for the installation surface.
•  Both the sockets as well as the timer must be easily accessible.
•  The garden socket must be installed in such a way that it it out of the reach of children.
•  The garden socket may only be connected to a power socket, which is protected with a 10/16 A
fuse and before which a residual current circuit breaker (FI circuit breaker) is installed.
•  Please ensure that the garden power outlet is not installed too far away from the power socket.
