Using the “professional” iron
•  After turning the appliance on as described
above,  wait  for  the  “iron  at  temperature”
light O to go off.
•  To discharge steam, press the steam button
L  on  top  of  and  under  the  handgrip  of  the
iron.
•  To discharge steam continuously, move the
continuous steam lock M forwards.
•  The iron can be rested in an upright position
(fig. 1). However, make sure the surface is
flat to avoid the iron falling over.
Using the “domestic” iron
•  After turning the appliance on as described
above,  wait  for  the  “iron  at  temperature”
light O to go off.
•  To discharge steam, press the steam button
L  on  top  of  and  under  the  handgrip  of  the
iron.
•  To discharge steam continuously, press the
continuous steam lock M to block the button
mechanically.
•  The iron can be rested in an upright position.
Make sure the surface is flat to avoid the iron
falling over accidentally. To rest the iron cor-
rectly, fix the steam/cable tube on the right
or left (figs. 2 and 3) by pushing it as far as
it will go until it clicks into place.
•  (Some models only) Safe transport: the iron
has a locking system to avoid it being acci-
dentally  dropped  during  transport  or  when
stored after use.
To lock the iron in position, insert the tip in
the housing on the iron rest and press the
iron downwards until it clicks into place (fig.
4).
To release the iron, press the
button
P  and  remove  the  iron.  While  ironing,  rest
the iron as shown in fig. 10 (without locking
in place).
 Important!
Never  move  or  lift  the  appliance
using the iron as a carrying handle.
Adjusting the thermostat
Turn the thermostat knob to set the
most  suitable  temperature  for  the
type of fabric to be ironed.
For steam ironing, the temperature must be wi-
thin the steam sector shown alongside.
Below  is  a  brief  guide  to  help  you  choose  the
best temperature for the type of fabric to be iro-
ned.
l
Acetate, acrylic, nylon, polyester, rayon
l l
Silk, wool
l l
 l Linen, cotton
Steam regulator
The steam regulation knob enables the quanti-
ty of steam to be increased or decreased accor-
ding to the fabric being ironed.
When you turn the iron on, you are recommen-
ded to turn the steam regulation knob to the ma-
ximum steam position.
The corresponding light comes on.
Topping up the tank with water
When the water runs out, the
 light goes off.
When the light goes off, you must top up the wa-
ter in the tank as rapidly as possible, following
the procedure for filling the tank.
This enables you to continue ironing without in-
terruption.
If you delay topping up the water and the ste-
am generator cools down, the system no longer
emits steam and when the tank has been filled
again, the appliance functions as though turned
on for the first time.
In other words, 5 minutes will elapse before the
steam is ready and during those 5 minutes you
will hear the pump fill 4 or 5 times for about 30
seconds.
After this period of stabilisation, the steam ge-
nerator will start working normally, periodically
filling with water.
When the “no water” light goes off, you should
not  continue  steam  ironing  with  the  pump  vi-
brating. If this practice is continued, in the long
run it could irreparably damage internal compo-
nents.
