SAFETy RULES FOR GASOLINE POwEREd COMPRESSORS

read and understand all instructions in engine

operation manual.
Before starting operating compressor, exam-

ine the fuel tank for signs of damage or leaks.

If the fuel tank appears to be damaged, stop us-

ing it immediately and contact your local BOSCH

service center. There is a risk of fire from spilled

fuel.
Always turn off the engine when not in use

and before moving compressor. Stopping the

engine prevents unintentional starting of the com-

pressor.
Stop engine before servicing compressor. Re-

move spark plug cap and vent compressed air

before inspecting, servicing, cleaning compressor

to prevent unintentional starting of the compres-

sor.
During normal operation observe the opera-

tion of the compressor. The engine should cy-

cle between high and low speed. If compressor

does not cycle have the compressor serviced by

an authorized BOSCH service center. The com-

pressor has a pilot valve that controls engine

speed and tank pressure. There is a risk of burst-

ing if the pilot valve is not functioning correctly.
Do not store a gasoline powered compressor

near any equipment that uses a pilot light or

has sparking components such as switches.

There is a potential for fire, if gasoline vapors are

ignited.
Do not start or operate compressor in an en-

closed area. Do not inhale engine exhaust.

Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a poi-

sonous colorless odorless gas.
Do not operate this compressor in forest cov-

ered, brush covered or unimproved grasslands

without installing a spark arresting muffler.

Spark arresting mufflers reduce the possibility of

a fire caused by the engine. A spark arresting

muffler must be maintained by the operator.

Allow the compressor to cool at least two min-

utes before attempting to refuel. Hot compo-

nents could cause a fire if gasoline is spilled on

them.
When refueling, pour fuel slowly and maintain

control to avoid spilling fuel. Spilled fuel in-

creases the risk of fire.
DO NOT SMOke while refueling the compres-

sor.
Do not refuel the compressor indoors. Gaso-

line vapors are harmful to breathe.
Do not fill the fuel tank completely full; leave 1/4

in. (0.7 cm) head space. This space allows room

for the fuel to expand without overflowing the tank

and increasing the risk of fire.
Do not operate the compressor if fuel is spilled.

Clean up spilled fuel, move compressor away

from spill area. Do not start compressor until

all fuel has evaporated off of compressor sur-

faces. Spilled fuel increases the risk of fire.
The engine exhaust from this product contains

chemicals know to the State of California to

cause cancer, birth defects or other reproduc-

tive harm.
Some dust created by power sanding, sawing,

grinding, drilling, and other construction activi-

ties contains chemicals known to cause cancer,

birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some

examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints,
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and

other masonry products, and
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated

lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending

on how often you do this type of work. To reduce

your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well

ventilated area, and work with approved safety

equipment, such as those dust masks that are

specially designed to filter out microscopic par-

ticles.
