This section describes several typical applications for the Vanguard 6435/6455:

Figure 1-2 shows two Vanguard 6435s linked to a Vanguard 6560 at a main office.

The Vanguard 6435 connects a remote ATM site to a main bank location. The 
Vanguard 6435 connections are:

• 56K link (through a 56K DSU/CSU daughtercard) to the main bank location.

• ATM async or sync connection (through one of the serial ports or a DIM Site 

Daughtercard).

• Video camera connection (through a RemoteVU

ΤΜ 

Daughtercard).

• Phone connection (through a Single-Port or Dual-Port Voice Daughtercard).

The branch bank site shows how a Vanguard 6435 can handle the connection 
requirements with these connections:

• 128K link (through the FT1 or FE1 Daughtercard).

• Multiple video cameras (through one or more RemoteVU

ΤΜ

 Daughtercards).

• Ethernet LAN connection to the branch bank server.

• Transaction terminal (through one of the built-in serial ports).

• Phone system (using one of the Voice Daughtercards, such as the Dual-Port 

FXS, or the FT1).

• Cluster controller with attached devices, such as terminals or printers, 

(through one of the built-in serial ports).
