Ethernet Configuration Commands

support all speeds, even if they are available in the command. Entering an
unsupported speed will produce the following error message An invalid
interface has been used for this function.
Fiber ports do
not support auto-negotiation. Both ends of fiber connections must be set to
full-duplex and the same speed.
Example
The following example configures the speed operation of Ethernet port 1/0/5
to advertise 100-Mbps operation only.
console(config)#interface gigabitethernet 1/0/5
console(config-if)#speed 100
storm-control broadcast
Use the storm-control broadcast command in Interface Configuration mode
to enable broadcast storm recovery mode for a specific interface. If the mode
is enabled, broadcast storm recovery is active, and if the rate of L2 broadcast
traffic ingressing on an interface increases beyond the configured threshold,
the traffic will be dropped. Therefore, the rate of broadcast traffic will be
limited to the configured threshold.
