Paper System Enhancements

Paper Left Edge Reference Scale

After adjusting the position of the tractors, take note of the left edge of the paper and the
Paper Left Edge Reference Scale.

For your convenience, this position may be written on the Forms Setting Reference Label,
along with other settings related to a particular form.

Print Gap Adjustment Wheel and Lever

The Print Gap Lever opens and closes the print gap for loading paper and ribbon.

The Print Gap Adjustment Wheel rotates to let the platen accommodate different thick-
nesses of paper. The green square indicates the recommended setting for typical 18 or 20
pound single-part forms.

For thicker forms, the wheel is rotated towards A, B, C, and so on, up to G (the widest gap
setting). Within each letter, there is a range of fine adjustment. For reference, you can line
up the letter with the numbers 1, 2, 3, or 4. For example, the print gap position shown below
would be referred to as position "C-2".
