Configuring SNMPv3 Users

Configuring SNMPv3 Users
Use the Users page to displays or configure SNMPv3 users. To display this page, 
click SNMP > Users in the navigation window.
The User Table displays each configured user. To add a user:

Click Add.

Enter the parameters:
Username—Specify the alphanumeric name for the SNMP user login. 
Usernames can be up to 32 characters and contain alpha, numeric, dash, 
blank-space, or underscore characters. No other symbols, punctuation or 
characters are permitted.
Engine ID—Select Local (default) to use the configured Engine ID (see 
). Or, select Remote to designate a remote 
management station.
Access Mode—Select Read (default) to enable the user to view information 
only. Select Write to enable the user to modify values.
Authentication Method—Select one of the following options to determine 
how the user authenticates when logging in through SNMP:

None—No authentication is used.

MD5 Password—HMAC encryption with an MD5-96 hashing algorithm.

MD5 Key—HMAC encryption with a pregenerated MD5-96 key.

SHA Password—HMAC encryption with an SHA-96 hashing algorithm.

SHA Key—HMAC encryption with a pregenerated SHA-96 key.
Password—If MD5 Password or SHA Password is selected as the 
Authentication Method, enter a password.
Authentication Key—If a MD5 key or a SHA key is selected as the 
authentication method, enter a key. MD5 keys are 32 hex characters and SHA 
keys are 40 hex characters.
