Appendix 13      Using Adapters
  Database Adapter—IBM DB2
Getting Started Using the IBM DB2 Database Adapter
Use the following process to monitor and manage IBM DB2 database instances. 
Step 1
Create an IBM DB2 database target (see 
).
Step 2
Define an IBM DB2 database activity. 
a.
In the Process Editor Toolbox, choose Database > IBM DB2 > [DB2 Database Activity], then drag 
and drop the activity onto the Workflow pane.
b.
Click the General tab and enter the required information.
c.
Click the [Activity-Specific] tabs to define the properties specific to the activity. 
d.
Enter the information in the remaining tabs as necessary, then click Save to complete the activity 
definition.

Configuring DB2 Database Adapter Properties
The DB2 Database Adapter provides the activities to access DB2 database objects and execute SQL 
queries in Process Orchestrator. Use the SQL tab to configure DB2 database query settings.
Step 1
Choose Administration > Adapters, right-click IBM DB2 Database Adapter and choose Properties.
Step 2
Click the SQL tab to configure database adapter properties:
  •
Maximum number of rows—Maximum number of rows to return in a Select SQL query (default 
10000)
  •
Termination character—Termination character string with default values
Termination characters can be configured in DB2. Common termination characters are forward slash 
[ / ] and the semi-colon [ ; ].
Step 3
Click OK to close the dialog box.
Creating a DB2 Database Adapter Target
Using the DB2 Database adapter, you can create these types of targets:
  •
Use the DB2 Mainframe Database target to specify the connection information for a IBM mainframe 
using DB2 architecture.
  •
Use the DB2 Universal Database target to specify the connection information used to connect to a 
DB2 universal database.
Step 1
Choose Definitions > Targets, right-click, choose New, then choose one of the following options:
