When all the basic function checks have been successfully completed, the next
step is to move the vehicle to a suitable open space for commissioning.
The commissioning area must take into account the following:
- Buildings or structures
- Power lines
- Other sources of interference

5.5.1 Buildings and structures
The vehicle should be sited away from tall metal or brick structures. The table
below is used as a guide to how far away the vehicle should be:

5.5.2 Power

The vehicle must not be parked under or near power lines. This also applies to
electrified railway lines
5.5.3 Other sources of interference
The vehicle must not be parked near other sources of interference i.e. tall trees,
next to a larger vehicle, near large antennas.
5.6 Power up
When all basic installation checks have been successfully completed, the next
step is to power up the DPU and check the basic function of the unit.
5.7 Power up checks
Reconnect the power cable to the DPU. Check the following indicators of the two
LED’s on the top of the DPU:
Initial power up - When the power cable is first connected the DPU will go into
boot up mode. While booting both LEDs are not lit. Booting will take about 30
