Leipzig,  Germany,  June  2, 2012 − JVC  (JVC  KENWOOD  Corporation)  introduces  the  KW-NSX1 
Smartphone Receiver that enables seamless enjoyment of Symbian™ and iPhone™ functionality in the 
car,  enhanced  by  a  6.1-inch  WVGA  touch panel  monitor with  a  host  of  high-performance  in-car  AV 
multimedia receiver features. 

Smartphone  integration  is  made  possible  with MirrorLink™ to  allow  totally  synced  operation  with and

phones, duplicating the phone’s screen on the head unit’s monitor. The user can take 

advantage of Car Mode to access apps that have been optimized for in-car use, thereby assuring a safe 
and comfortable driving experience. 

Symbian Car Mode application is available at the OVI Store and the screen is grouped as “Call”, “Drive”, 
and  “Music”.  It  provides intuitively  categorized  access  to  communication,  navigation  and  music  apps 
optimized for the in-car environment, using compatible Nokia smartphones.*

Naturally  iPhone  compatibility  is  also  afforded,  including App  Link  Mode  that  enhances  the  user 
experience  of  certain  iPhone (and  iPod  touch) apps  with  live  on-screen  graphic  display  and  music 
playback  through  the  vehicle’s  speakers.  These  apps  are  downloadable  from  App  Store  as  well  as 
iTunes Store. Synced operation is possible between KW-NSX1 and iPhone using apps supplied by 10
different  providers  in  Europe  as  of  today.  Its Drive  Change  Mode  feature  allows  music  playback  with 
BlackBerry® via USB connection from either the phone’s internal or external memory. Also featured is a 
USB  2.0  port  for  2-Way  Control  of iPod/iPhone  and  1A  current  capable  USB  power  supply  for 
smartphones.

In addition to being smartphone friendly, KW-NSX1 is also a full-fledged multimedia AV head unit in its 
own  right,  offering  DVD/CD/USB

compatibility  with  support  of  WAV/MP3/WMA

formats,

/JPEG/MPEG compatibility,

3-Band Parametric iEQ, Dolby Digital, MOS-FET 50 W x 4, three sets of 

4V  pre-outs,  line  input  terminals,  HPF  and  LPF,  rear-view  camera  input,  built-in  Bluetooth®  Wireless 
Technology, Steering Wheel Remote Control ready, multilingual display, and detachable face panel.

Compatible  Nokia  phone  models,  their  launch  timing,  as  well  as  Car  Mode  compatibility  will  differ  by 
country or region.
