3. Remove the scan engine or E1022

linear imager assembly.

•  For a standard scan engine or

PDF 417 scan engine, remove
the two screws holding the
scan engine assembly in place.

•  For an E1022 linear imager,

remove the four screws
holding the E1022 linear
imager assembly in place.

4. Install the backup capacitor assembly in the new bottom cover. Make sure that the

scanner reed switch is properly seated in the bottom cover.

5. Replace the radio/memory card support bracket and the radio/memory card support

bar, and tighten the screws to 0.565 Nm (5 in-lb). Make sure that the wires are
positioned in the channels under the radio/memory support bar.

6. If you removed the PDF 417 PCB assembly from the bottom cover, install the PDF

417 PCB assembly in the bottom cover.
