c) Loading the rechargeable batteries for the transmitter
If you use 8 mignon accumulators for your transmitter, take these out of the transmitter for charging and recharge them
in a suitable round cell charger.
Observe the instructions of the charger's manufacturer as well as the technical data sheets of the used accumulators.
Never try to recharge batteries (1.5V/cell) with a charger; danger of explosion and of fire!
Warning!
The flight control system in the model is equipped with an effective protective circuit which later prevents
the unintentional startup of the drive motor. However, before each operation of the transmitter, you must
ensure that the slider for the motor function (see figure 3, Pos.12) is in the “Motor off” position.
For this purpose, the slider must be moved all the way to the bottom in position “L”. Contrary to the
control sticks for the elevator and the rudder, which always jump back into the central position
independently, the slide control always remains in the last set position.
When the rechargeable batteries are charged or when new batteries are inserted, pull out the antenna of the transmitter
all the way and, for test purposes, switch the transmitter on via the function switch (see figure 2, Pos. 6). The red and
green LEDs (see ill 2, pos. 11) are lit and signal sufficient power supply of the transmitter.
If the power supply is no longer sufficient for proper operation of the transmitter (below 8.8 V), the red LED starts to
blink and a warning beep additionally sounds every second. In this case, you should stop operating your model as
quickly as possible.
For further operation of the transmitter the rechargeable batteries have to be recharged or new batteries have to be
inserted.
In order to avoid the memory effect of NiCd rechargeable batteries, you should only recharge them when the rechargeable
batteries are completely discharged.
