d) Screw in Glow Plug
Screw the enclosed glow plug into the corresponding opening the cylinder head with a suitable glow plug key (enclosed).
Do not use any force for this.
Glow plugs wear, especially during the breaking-in stage. If tinder has formed on the glow coil, there may be
problems with starting or operation.
Therefore, we recommend that you always keep some glow plugs at hand for replacement. There are glow
plugs with different heat values.
Use glow plugs for RC cars only! The wrong glow plug, e.g. for a 4-cycle plane engine, will cause the engine
to run incorrectly and impairs reconciliation.
Generally, the following rule applies: The higher the nitromethane share in the fuel, the „colder“ the glow plug
should be. This also applies the higher the ambience temperature when driving.
A „hot“ plug must be used at low nitromethane ratios (e.g. for breaking in the motor) or low outdoor
temperatures.
e) Oil Air Filter, Install Air Filter
The enclosed air filter (a foam ring) is already slightly oiled.
The oil it he air filter ensures that finest dust particles stick to the oil and do not get into the motor. These fine
dust particles increase wear at the pistons and cylinder wall and reduce output. At continuous motor operation
without oiled air filter, permanent motor damage may occur; loss of warranty/guarantee!
Check the air filter for correct oiling before each run. Oil it with a special air filter oil (not included in the delivery,
available as an accessory). Never drive without an oiled air filter!
For oiling, push the air filter (only the foam ring) into a small plastic bag and add a few drops of air filter oil. Close the
plastic bag and compress the air filter several times so that the air filter oil moistens the entire air filter.
Assemble the air filter and attach it to the intake opening of the carburettor.
Wash the air filter from time to time (depending on dust load when driving) with benzene or replace it with a
new one.
f) Taking the Transmitter and Receiver System into Operation
Open the battery compartment on the transmitter and insert new batteries or fully charged rechargeable batteries.
Observe correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-), see label on the battery compartment. Close the battery compartment
again.
Switch on the transmitter. Check the functions at the transmitter.
Observe the enclosed operating instructions for the remote control system.
First switch on the receiver system of the vehicle (see figure 1, item „A“, switch in the „ON“ position).
