The grey values are the basic settings performed by the manufacturer at the time these operating instruc-
tions were drawn up. The speed controller of your vehicle may have a different basic setting; observe the
number of flashes of the red LED in this case.
Description of the setting functions:
•  Function #1, green LED flashes 1x short: Drive function
The speed controller can be switched between „forwards/brake“ and „forwards/brake/reverse“ (reverse driving can
thus be switched off). The Setting „Forward/reverse“ should not be used. It is used, e.g., for „Crawler“ vehicles.
•  Function #2, green LED, flashes 2x short: Motor brake
If you reduce the throttle at the transmitter or move back the throttle/brake lever into the neutral position, the vehicle
will slow down automatically. The effect is thus exactly like that of the motor-braking function in a „real“ car when you
release the throttle pedal without stepping on the brake pedal.
This also corresponds to the brake function of a conventional electric motor (a brushless electrical motor does not
have any strong magnets that brake the rotor).
•  Function #3, green LED flashes 3x short: Undervoltage protection
If LiPo drive batteries are used, then you must ensure that the low-voltage protection is activated (we recommend
at least 3.0 V per cell).
The two connected 2-cell LiPo drive batteries are switched into series for the vehicle. When the speed controller
measures a voltage of 12.0 V for a duration of 2 seconds in this combination (fully charged approx. 16.8 V) and a
deactivation voltage of 3.0 V/cell, the speed controller switches of the motor to prevent deep discharge of the LiPo
battery. The LED on the speed controller starts to flash red.
When using am NiMH-drive battery, deactivate the undervoltage recognition. Alternatively, you can set the undervol-
tage recognition to 2.6 V/cell. Deactivation takes place at a battery voltage of 10.4 V then (the speed controller does
not recognise that a NiMH-drive battery is connected, but calculates the deactivation voltage assuming that there is
a 4-cell LiPo battery).
•  Function #4, green LED flashes 4x short: Start mode when driving off
Depending on this setting, the take-off/start speed is more or less powerful. Note that the two top settings require
high-quality rechargeable batteries capable of providing the appropriate current during take off. Additionally, these
two stages negatively affect the service life (drive pinion, main gear, differential, tyres) due to the higher strain on
the drive).
