END USER SHALL NOT MAkE ANY LICENSED SOFTWARE OR ITS DOCUMENTATION 
AVAILABLE FOR ACCESS OR USE BY ANY PERSON, OR ENTITY OTHER THAN END 
USER.
END USER SHALL NOT CAUSE THE LICENSED SOFTWARE IN ANY WAY TO BE DISAS-
SEMBLED, DECOMPILED OR REVERSE ENGINEERED AND SHALL NOT UNDERTAkE OR 
PERMIT ANY ATTEMPT TO DO SO.
END USER SHALL NOT TRANSLATE, PORT, MODIFY, ENHANCE OR MAkE DERIVATIVE 
WORkS OF THE LICENSED SOFTWARE.
END USER SHALL NOT OBSCURE, ALTER OR REMOVE ANY PATENT, COPYRIGHT OR 
TRADEMARk MARkING OR LEGEND CONTAINED ON OR IN ANY LICENSED SOFTWARE 
OR ANY ASSOCIATED HARDWARE COMPONENTS OR DOCUMENTATION.
END USER AGREES AND ACkNOWLEDGES THAT HILLCREST AND ITS LICENSORS 
SHALL RETAIN ALL TITLE TO THE LICENSED SOFTWARE.
HILLCREST SHALL BE AN ExPRESS THIRD PARTY BENEFICIARY OF THE EULA, EN-
TITLED TO ENFORCE SUCH AGREEMENT AGAINST END USER IN ACCORDANCE WITH 
ITS TERMS.
END USER ACkNOWLEDGES THAT WITH RESPECT TO THE LICENSED SOFTWARE AND 
ANY SUPPORT, CUSTOMER SERVICE, OR OTHER MATERIALS OR SERVICES RELATED 
THERETO, HILLCREST MAkES NO WARRANTY OF ANY kIND, WHETHER ExPRESS, 
IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. HILLCREST SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS 
ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE WARRANTIES 
OF MERCHANTABILITY, TITLE, ACCURACY OF DATA, NON-INFRINGEMENT, NON-
INTERFERENCE, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. 8. IN NO EVENT SHALL 
HILLCREST OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL,

Troubleshooting
Problem

Error:  could 
not play 
video.
Unsupported video 
file. 
Corrupt file.
Make sure the video file is in a format supported 
by the Media Player. Try converting the video 
file into a format known to be compatible with 
the Media Player.
If possible create a new version of the video 
from the original. Playing the video file on a 
computer can help you determine if the file is 
corrupted. This can help you confirm that the 
video file is in a format that the Media Player 
supports also.     
Error:  cannot 
find video file.
NAS drive offline.
A video file has been 
deleted from the NAS 
drive.
Ensure that your NAS drive is powered ON, 
properly connected to the network, and Enabled 
in Composer. 
Add the video file to the NAS drive (scanning 
the video again in Composer is required also).  
Video play-
back is not 
smooth or 
has pauses or 
skips.
Problem with the 
video file.
Network bandwidth 
issues.
Network Attached 
Storage issues.
If possible, create a new version of the video 
from the original. If this is a high-definition video 
file, try reducing the video resolution.
Ensure that there is sufficient bandwidth avail-
able for video playback. Playback of multiple 
video files over the network or large internet 
downloads during video playback can limit 
network availability and impact video playback 
quality. The Media Player buffers approximately 
10 seconds of video to help alleviate these 
problems, but if network issues persist then 
video playback issues may arise. If needed 
work with a networking professional to ensure 
your network has sufficient available bandwidth 
for video playback. 
Ensure that the NAS where your video files are 
stored is functioning properly
Poor Video 
Quality.
The video file is 
encoded in a low 
resolution. 
If possible, create a new version of the video 
from the original using higher resolution set-
tings. 
Wrong 
language is 
playing.
The video may have 
multiple language 
tracks. 
Provide the video file with only the desired

encoded in DTS sur-

Unsupported audio 
codec.
The Media Player supports DTS pass through 
only – meaning that it will pass the DTS signal 
through the digital optical (S/PDIF) and HDMI 
connections to a Receiver or TV, which must 
then decode the DTS signal. A DTS-compatible 
Receiver or TV is required for DTS audio to 
work. When playing a video file that has DTS 
encoded audio, the Media Player will not output 
any audio over the  Left/Right RCA audio 
outputs.
If possible, create a new version of the video 
from the original.
