Cable Your Router
The installation guide that came in the box has a cabling diagram on the first page. This
section describes how to connect the router, the computer, and the cable or DSL broadband
modem, and provides detailed illustrations.

Turn off and unplug the cable or DSL broadband modem. If your modem has a backup
battery, remove it as well.

Locate the Ethernet cable (

) that connects your computer to the modem.

Disconnect the cable from the modem (

). You will connect it to the router later.

Locate the Ethernet cable that came with the NETGEAR product. Securely insert the
Ethernet cable into your modem and into the Internet port of the router.
