2.3 Front
Panel
The following items can be found on the front panel of the freeConnect 2400 (Figure 2-3).

Power LED
This indicator will light up green when the switch is receiving power.
Link / Activity LED
The LED for each port will light up green when the port is connected to an active device, and will
flash when data is being transmitted or received.

100Mbps LED
The LED for each port will light up green when the port is connected to a device that supports
100Mbps Fast Ethernet. If there is no connection or the connection is only 10Mbps Ethernet,
the LED will be off.

Ethernet Ports
These ports support automatic MDI/MDIX crossover detection which gives you true ‘plug and
play’ capability when it comes to using straight-through cables or crossover cables. With this
feature, you won’t have to worry about whether you need a straight-through or crossover
network cable, the freeConnect 2400 will automatically detect the type of cable and compensate
for it if necessary.

2.4 Rear
Panel
The AC power receptacle is located on the rear panel of the freeConnect 2400 (Figure 2-4).
The receptacle is a three-pronged connector that connects to the power cable included with the
unit. Supported input voltage ranges are 100-240 AC at 50-60Hz.
