Optional configuration steps 
Step 14: Logging server configuration (Optional) 
The following configuration will enable event logs to be sent to an external logging server (using the 
SYSLOG protocol). 
 
The Log level controls the granularity of event logging. 1 is the least verbose, 4 the most. 
 
A minimum log level of 2 is recommended, as this level provides both system and basic signaling 
message logging. 
Note: Cisco VCS Expressway external logging server configuration requires additional firewall / 
NAT configuration – See Appendix 3 – NAT & firewall configuration.  
To configure a Logging server: 
1.  Go to the Logging page (System configuration > Logging). 
2. Configure
