Appendix 9 – Debugging on Lync Server
Use of Lync Server Logging tool
For debugging it is important to enable the logging on the appropriate Lync pool. If a Lync Director is
in use, tracing here is a good starting point.

1. On Lync Server select Start > All Programs > Microsoft Lync Server 2010 > Lync Server
Logging Tool.
2. Select the logging option, for example SIPStack to look at SIP logs. (Details about all the logging

3. Click Start Logging.
4. Make the call, or perform the function that needs to be debugged.
5. Click Stop Logging.
6. Click Analyze Log Files (install the Lync Server Resource Kit Tools if prompted to do so).
