Lync 2010 Client Receives VGA (640x480) Rather than 720p Resolution
A Lync 2010 client can receive only VGA (640x480), rather than 720p resolution, if the Lync Server is configured with a
low MaxVideoRateAllowed setting. In this case the setting needs to be increased from VGA600K (the default) to

Go to the Lync Server Management Shell.

Type:
Get-CsMediaConfiguration
This will output the current MaxVideoRateAllowed setting
To increase the default video rate value for peer-to-peer calls globally:

Go to the Lync Server Management Shell.

Type:
Set-CsMediaConfiguration -Identity Global -MaxVideoRateAllowed Hd720p15M
3.
Type
Enable-CsTopology
to apply the new configuration.

If the call capacity of the Cisco AM GWs is reached, new calls to and from Lync will be routed directly between VCS and
