The PgfLocked statement does not correspond to any setting in the Paragraph Designer. The statement is 
used for text insets that retain formatting information from the source document. 

If the <PgfLocked Yes> statement appears in a specific paragraph, that paragraph is part of a text inset that 
retains formatting information from the source document. The paragraph is not affected by global 
formatting performed on the document. 

If the <PgfLocked No> statement appears in a specific paragraph, that paragraph is not part of a text inset, 
or is part of a text inset that reads formatting information from the current document. The paragraph is 
affected by global formatting performed on the document.

A character format is defined by a PgfFont or a Font statement. Character formats can be defined locally 
or they can be stored in the Character Catalog, which is defined by a FontCatalog statement. 

The FontCatalog statement defines the contents of the Character Catalog. A document can have only one 
FontCatalog statement, which must appear at the top level in the order given in “MIF file layout” on 
page 66.

The PgfFont and Font statements both define character formats. The PgfFont statement must appear in a 
Pgf statement. The Font statement must appear in a FontCatalog, Para, or TextLine statement.

New statements have been added to the PgfFont and Font statements to express combined fonts in 
FrameMaker documents. For more information, see “Combined Fonts” on page 214.
