The illumination level of the analog meter and frequency display may be reduced, if
you are using the transceiver in a dark environment where high brightness is not
desired.
To reduce the illumination level, press the [DIM] button, located to the left of the
analog meter. To restore full brightness, press the [DIM] button once more.
You may also customize the amount of brightness reduction engaged by the pressing of
the [DIM] button, and may use different brightness levels for different front panel
areas. Menu item “008 diSP DIM MTR” adjusts the brightness level of the analog
meter; while menu item “009 diSP DIM VFD” sets the brightness levels of the
frequency display (these settings are effective only when the [DIM] button is pressed).

To adjust the Main (VFO-A) audio level, rotate the Main [AF GAIN] knob. To
