Formatting USB storage media

When a USB storage device is connected or media is inserted, a message may appear prompting you to format the device/
media. If so, execute the Format operation.

After making sure that the USB flash memory is connected to the instrument, 
press the 

 button while holding down the 

 button.

Press the 

 button to start the search. A “n–y” message will appear 

on the display if a USB flash memory device to be formatted is found. To cancel 
format, press 

[–/NO] button before pressing the [+/YES] button in step 3.

Press the 

[+/YES] button.

When the format operation is finished, an “End” message appears on the dis-
play.

Press the 

[–/NO] or [+/YES] button to exit from format mode.

The format operation overwrites any previously existing data. Make sure that the media 
you are formatting does not contain important data. Proceed with caution, especially 
when connecting multiple USB storage media.

The initialize mode cannot be 
engaged while song playback is 
active in BGM mode.

If no media is found or initializa-
tion is failed, an “Err” message 
and the error code will appear 
alternately on the display.
