the keyboard globally (affects all modes), whether to an external MIDI device or to the
internal DG8 sounds or card sounds. Once the keyboard is transposed, all Primaries,
Layers and Splits are transposed by the same interval until you change the transpose
(even if the DG8 is turned off) or re-initialize the instrument.
Also, if you attempt a transpose value more than the one-octave limit, the DG8 will
keep the pitch the same but the key selected will be the nearest one within the one
octave range. For example, if you try to transpose up to key E5 (the highest E on the
keyboard), the DG8 will transpose the keyboard up to E3, the E above Middle C.
Also, transposing the keyboard will not effect the Split Point’s physical location on
the keyboard.
The Transpose display will exit as soon as you press a key on the DG8’s keyboard. To
exit this mode without transposing, press
PLAY
.

FFECTS
Reverb and Chorus have been pre-programmed into nearly all* of the DG8’s sounds.
You adjust the level of the effects by moving the appropriate
LEVEL
 slider. Just keep
in mind that the Reverb and Chorus amounts are determined by the sliders’
positions, so if a slider is all the way down, that effect will not be heard at all.
* The exception to this is the
ELECTRIC ORGAN
Bank which substitutes a rotating speaker effect
instead of chorus. The
CHORUS LEVEL
slider acts as a speed control for the rotating speaker.
Note that Bass Programs have a minimal amount of Reverb and Chorus.

EQ
The DG8’s stereo 5-band graphic equalizer provides the tone controls for shaping the
overall sound output of the instrument. Press the
EQ ON
 button to activate the
equalizer. Each slider provides 6dB of boost or cut around each frequency.
The settings made on the EQ affect all sounds in all Play Modes – Primary, Layer,
Spilt and Split-with-Layer – and affect all inputs and outputs including the DG8’s
built-in speakers and headphones. The EQ is also “post-effects” so that reverb,
chorus and rotary speaker effects are equalized as well. The EQ settings are not
changed at power-up or if the DG8 is initialized, but every time you power on the
DG8, the EQ will be off.
