Although transferring calls is considered a basic function of an endpoint, the Model
8690 has many advanced options for this feature. With your endpoint, you can trans-
fer a call to another extension, voice mail, or even an outside line.
To Another Extension
1.
EITHER, Press the
TRANSFER
 menu button.
OR, Press the
TRANSFER TO HOLD
menu button to place the call on hold at the
other endpoint.
2.
Dial the desired extension number or press the
IC DIRECTORY
 menu button to
look up the number.
To transfer to your message center, press the
MESSAGE CENTER
 menu button.
3.
Wait for an answer, announce the call, and then hang up.
If the number is busy, there is no answer, or the transfer is refused, press
Answer
to return to the caller.
NOTE:
If you are receiving a transferred call and the Transfer-To-Connect option is
enabled for your endpoint, you are automatically connected to the transferred caller
once the transferring party hangs up. If this option is disabled, you must press Answer
or lift the handset to answer the transferred call.
To Voice Mail

TRANSFER
 menu button.
2.

the mailbox number).

 menu button.
