In this example, first a software image named

Setting system variables
The set commands allow you to define parameter and system information. Many of the set
commands are grouped within the chapters that they pertain to. System “set” commands are in
this section.
set console timeout
You can choose to limit how long a console session remains active by issuing the set console
timeout command. By default, an inactive console session times out after 10 minutes. After five
minutes of inactivity, a message warning the user of the log out appears.
Syntax: set console timeout <minute(s)>

minute(s)
enter a number half as great as the allowable limit of console inactivity; for
example, to allow a 14 minute period of inactivity before a forced logout, enter
the number 7; entering 0 allows an unlimited session
Example:
In this example, the console is set to time-out within a total of two minutes. At the half-life of the
command, the system alerts the user to an impending forced logout due to inactivity.
