10/100M Auto-crossover Ethernet/Fast Ethernet Interface
The LAN interface automatically adjusts to either a crossover or straight-through Ethernet 
cable.
10/100 Mbps Ethernet WAN
The 10/100 Mbps Ethernet WAN port attaches to the Internet via broadband DSL/Cable 
modem. 
Reset Button
The ZyXEL device reset button is built into the side panel. Use this button to restore the 
factory default password to 1234; IP address to 192.168.1.1, subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 
and DHCP server enabled with a pool of 32 IP addresses starting at 192.168.1.33. 
ZyAIR LED
The blue ZyAIR LED (also known as the breathing LED) is on when the ZyXEL device is on 
and blinks (or breaths) when data is being transmitted to/from its wireless stations. You may 
use the web configurator to turn this LED off even when the ZyXEL device is on and data is 
being transmitted/received.
1.2.2  Firmware Features
Internal RADIUS Server
The ZyXEL device has a built-in RADIUS server that can authenticate wireless clients or 
other APs in other wireless networks.The ZyXEL device can also function as an AP and as a 
RADIUS server at the same time.
WPA and WPA2
Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) is a subset of the IEEE 802.11i standard. WPA2 (IEEE 
802.11i) is a wireless security standard that defines stronger encryption, authentication and 
key management than WPA. 
Key differences between WPA(2) and WEP are improved data encryption and user 
authentication.
IEEE 802.11b Wireless LAN Standard
The ZyXEL device complies with the IEEE 802.11b wireless standards.
