SYSTEM OPTIMIZATION
DIPOLE OR BIPOLE MODE OPERATION (CONT’D)
3. If EMBRACE surrounds will be placed 3 feet (1 meter) or less
away from the rear wall, set each REAR WALL PROXIMITY
switch to the “NEAR REAR WALL” position (see Figure 19 on
the previous page). Otherwise leave it in the default “NOR-
MAL” position for all other placements.
4. Turn on the system power and play a variety of material. Slowly
increase the volume to a comfortable level and listen from your
main listening position. Be sure to set your multi-channel con-
troller to a mode that utilizes the surround channels.
5. You may also wish to further adjust the tweeter’s HIGH FRE-
QUENCY LEVEL control (see Figure 19 on the previous page)
to achieve the most natural sound in your room. Varying the
control will change the high-frequency balance and timbre.
DUAL DRIVE™ OPERATION
The EMBRACE surrounds support Dual Drive™ operation,
which provides a high degree of flexibility when using 7.1-channel
controllers. The controller’s resident software allows you to “aim”
EMBRACE’s main listening area, or perform other advanced signal
manipulation. See your controller’s owner’s manual, or consult
your dealer for information.
NOTE: Make sure the gold-plated shorting straps are disconnected,
and that the system is connected correctly (see “Speaker Connections”
on page 16).
1. After connecting the EMBRACE speakers, and with system
power off, initially set the HIGH FREQUENCY LEVEL con-
trol on the rear panel to the “0” position, as shown in Figure 20
(on the next page).
2. Set the EMBRACE mode switch to BIPOLE (see Figure 20).
3. If EMBRACE surrounds will be placed 3 feet (1 meter) or less
away from the rear wall, set each REAR WALL PROXIMITY
switch to the “NEAR REAR WALL” position (see Figure 20).
Otherwise leave it in the default “NORMAL” position for all
other placements.
4. Turn on the system power and play a variety of material. Slowly
increase the volume to a comfortable level and listen from your
