Gradients
Understanding how the
gradients work is key to
getting the most out of
PyroCluster.
Certain parts of PyroCluster, such as age and distance effects, can be controlled via
gradients; an example of a gradient can be seen to the right of Color, above. Gradients
work the same way in all parts of PyroCluster.
Using gradients
The small pointed squares underneath the gradient are called ‘knots’. Each knot ties
a color to the gradient at that position. Between the knots, in the gradient itself, you
will often see small diamond shapes. These are called ‘bias handles’ and they control
how the color changes between two knots.
To add a knot:
-  Click in the empty space below the gradient.
To change the color that the knot is tying to the gradient:
-  Double-click on the knot and a color picker dialog will open.
To remove a knot:
-  Drag the knot away from the gradient.
To move a knot or bias handle to a different position:
-  Drag the knot or bias handle left or right and drop it at its new position;
-  or select the knot or bias handle and enter a value into the Pos box.
To change the way color is interpolated between the knots and bias handles:
-  Choose from the Interpolation menu.
To change the strength of a knot:
-  Select the knot and enter a value into the Intensity box.
