In practice it has been found that the Europlex networking system of using LDAC's and network
cards is slow in communicating. A preferred method of networking both 3GS and Aplex panels is
available using our Data Port Replicator.

The replicator is an 8-channel RS232 broadcast unit using standard 25-way D-type connectors and
can connect up to 8 panels. The system should be connected as per the following diagram.

The maximum cable distance between the PC and the broadcast unit and between the broadcast
unit and each panel is 15 metres at 9600 Baud. If a longer distance is encountered then line drivers
will be required, using 2 * twisted pair cable between line drivers (ie Belden 8723 or equivalent).
