Enjoying TV with this unit’s speakers
You can enjoy TV broadcasts with this unit’s speakers.
Preparation
Confirm the audio connection to the OPTICAL IN or AUX terminal on this unit (

NO SELECT] several times to select “D-IN

≥When the system is connected to an HDAVI Control 2 or HDAVI Control 
3-compatible TV via an HDMI cable, TV broadcast audio is output through the 
system speakers if the TV input is switched to TV tuner mode. See “Setting the TV 
audio for VIERA Link “HDAVI Control” on page 30 for setting method.
≥Reduce the volume on the TV to its minimum, and then adjust the volume of this unit.
Enjoying TV sound in surround sound
You can enhance stereo sources with surround sound effect.
Press [
ÎVS] to turn on Dolby Virtual Speaker.
If you have a 5.1ch/7.1ch speaker system (

To enjoy in surround sound with Dolby Pro Logic II/Dolby Pro Logic IIx
Press [
ÎPLIIx].
To enjoy in surround sound with DTS NEO:6
Press [NEO:6].

Making settings for digital audio input
Select to suit the type of audio from the OPTICAL IN terminal on this unit.
Press [
NO SELECT] several times to select “D-IN” (DIGITAL IN).
This unit: Press [SELECTOR].
Press [SETUP].
Press [
34] to select “DUAL”, “DRC”, “PCM FIX” or “TV SOUND” 
and press [OK].
While the selected mode is displayed
Press [
34] to make the setting.
DUAL mode (Only works with Dolby Dual Mono)
M1
M2 
M1+M2
 (stereo audio)
≥If this is set to “M1 or to “M2, the PCM FIX modes (> below) will 
automatically be set to “OFF”.   
DRC (Dynamic Range Compression)
ON
:  Adjust for clarity even when the volume is low by compressing the range 
of the lowest sound level and the highest sound level. Convenient for late 
night viewing. (Only works with Dolby Digital)
OFF
PCM FIX modes
ON
:
Select when receiving only PCM signals.
OFF
: Select when receiving Dolby Digital and PCM signals.
≥If this is set to “ON”, the DUAL mode (> above) will automatically be set to 
“M1+M2.
TV SOUND modes
AUX
: Select when receiving analogue sound from the AUX terminal.
D-IN
: Select when receiving digital sound from the OPTICAL IN (TV) 
terminal.
≥Audio that is input through the OPTICAL IN terminal cannot be output through the 
HDMI terminal.
