enabling administrators to manage Mac OS X systems quickly and easily. Completely
retooled, redesigned to take advantage of the innovative technologies in Mac OS X,
this powerful suite of tools facilitates a wide range of IT management tasks. You can
distribute software, create detailed software and hardware reports, control and config-
ure systems, and offer live online help to end users—all without leaving your desk.
Software distribution. Apple Remote Desktop 2 makes it easy to install or upgrade
software across a network of Mac computers. You can ensure that all Mac computers in
your organization are running the most current version of Mac OS X or any application.

detailed information on all Mac OS X systems on your network, including comprehen-
sive hardware and software inventory reports about your servers, desktop systems,
and portable computers.

any number of Mac computers on the network. You can configure systems, run appli-
cations, open files, empty the Trash, log out current users, and lock screens—from
anywhere on the network.

2 enable you to provide help to users remotely. Screen sharing is also useful for
delivering training or demonstrations to groups of users.
