  Radio Weather Station E0303H2TR

Item no. 1170962
Intended use
The weather station displays date and time as well as various meteorological measured data, such
as indoor and outdoor temperature / indoor and outdoor humidity. The weather station calculates
a weather forecast for the next 12-24 hours. The measured data from an outdoor sensor are
transmitted via wireless radio to the weather station. Time and date are set automatically if the
DCF time signal (Mainflingen, Germany) is available over radio. Manual setting is also possible (e.g.
in case of reception problems). The manufacturer shall not be responsible for inaccurate display,
measured values or weather forecasts and their consequences.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you
use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read
the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together
with its operating instructions.
This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. All company names

Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper
handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
•  Do not open/dismantle the product (except for inserting/changing the batteries as
described in the instructions).
•  Do not use this product in hospitals or medical facilities. Although the outdoor
sensor transmits relatively weak radio signals, they could lead to malfunctions in
life-support systems. The same could apply to other areas also.
•  The weather station is suitable only for dry indoor areas.
•  The  outdoor  sensor  is  suitable  for  outdoor  use.  However,  it  should  not  be  used
underwater.
•  Use the product only in temperate climates, not in tropical climates.
•  Condensation can occur if the product is brought from a cold room into a warm one
(e.g. during transportation). This can damage the product. Therefore, let the product
reach room temperature before use. This could possibly take several hours.
•  In  schools,  educational  facilities,  hobby  and  DIY  workshops,  the  product  is  to  be
operated under the responsible supervision of qualified personnel.
•  The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
•  Do  not  leave  packaging  material  lying  around  carelessly.  These  may  become
dangerous playing material for children.
•  Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
•  Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
•  If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
 - is visibly damaged,
 - is no longer working properly,
 - has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
 - has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
•  Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
•  Correct  polarity  must  be  observed  while  inserting  the  (rechargeable)  batteries.
(Rechargeable) batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long
period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged (rechargeable)
batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin , therefore use suitable
protective gloves to handle corrupted (rechargeable) batteries.
•  (Rechargeable)  batteries  must  be  kept  out  of  reach  of  children.  Do  not  leave
(rechargeable) batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow
them.
•  All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and
new  (rechargeable)  batteries  in  the  device  can  lead  to  (rechargeable)  battery
leakage and device damage.
•  (Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.
Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
•  Do not use batteries along with accumulators (rechargeable batteries).
•  Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
•  Maintenance,  modifications  and  repairs  are  to  be  performed  exclusively  by  an
expert or at a qualified shop.
•  If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.

The  temperature  trend  is  shown  by
the arrow orientation. The indoor
trend  is  also  influenced  by  short-term
temperature variations independent of
the weather.
The moon phase display shows the
natural phases of the moon and its
appearance in the form of a diagram.
Operation
a)  Inserting the batteries into the outdoor sensor
1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the rear side of the outdoor sensor.
2. Insert two Type AAA/Micro batteries with correct polarity into the battery compartment of the
outdoor sensor (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
3. Close the battery compartment.
b)  Inserting the batteries into the weather station
1. Remove the battery compartment cover (12) on the rear side of the weather station.
2.  Insert  three  Type  AA/Mignon  batteries  with  correct  polarity  into  the  battery  compartment
(observe plus/+ and minus/-).
3. Close the battery compartment.
In  principle,  it  is  possible  to  operate  the  weather  station  and  outdoor  sensor  with
rechargeable batteries. Due to lower voltage (rechargeable battery = 1.2V, battery =
1.5V)  and  lower  capacity  of  rechargeable  batteries,  the  operating  time  is  shorter  than  with
batteries.  There  is  also  a  probability  of  reduction  in  radio  range.  Furthermore,  rechargeable
batteries  are  more  sensitive  to  cold  condition  than  batteries,  which  can  have  implications  for
outdoor  sensors.  If  you  wish  to  use  rechargeable  batteries  in  spite  of  these  limitations,  it  is
imperative  that  you  use  special  NiMH  rechargeable  batteries  with  low  self-discharge.  We
recommend  that  you  preferably  use  high  quality  alkaline  batteries  to  ensure  long  and  safe
operation.
c)  Setting up and mounting
The  weather  station  can  be  set  up  on  a  horizontal,  stable,  sufficiently  large  surface  using  the
fold-out stand (13). A suitable mat should be used to prevent scratch marks on valuable furniture
surfaces.
The weather station and outdoor sensor must be set up at a distance of about 2 m from
sources of interference.
The weather station can also be hung on the wall using hanging slots (11) on the rear side (e.g.
with hooks, nails or screws). The outdoor sensor should similarly be fixed on a wall protected from
the weather and direct sunlight.
Ensure that no cables or wires are damaged during drilling and screwing. To read the
built-in display of the outdoor sensor optimally, we recommend that the outdoor sensor
is mounted on the left or right of a window. Choose the location in such a way that it is not in direct
sunlight, otherwise it could lead to errors in the measured values. Direct precipitation on the
outdoor sensor should also be avoided.
