Troubleshooting:
If the settings are not saved to the USB memory device successfully, you may receive the error message “The specified
operation cannot be executed”. Verify:
•  The device is connected to a USB 2.0 port, not a USB 3.0 port.
•  The device has a capacity of 1 GB or larger.
•  The device is not write-protected.
Applying Settings
The saved settings can be applied to a different TeraStation (of the same series).
Connect the USB memory device with the saved settings to a USB 2.0 port of the TeraStation (not a USB 3.0 port).
In Settings, click Management.
Click the
icon to the right of “Restore/Erase”.
From “Target USB drive”, select the USB memory device that is connected to the USB 2.0 port of the TeraStation.
Select “Transfer settings from a USB drive”, then click Execute.
Restoring Factory Defaults
Initializing the TeraStation
There are several ways to initialize the TeraStation, restoring its factory default settings One simple way to do this is to
hold down the init button (chapter 12, diagram 10) on the front panel for three seconds. Normally this will reset the
admin username and password, network configuration, SSL, and security port settings to their factory default values.
However, this button can be disabled in settings, so that it doesn’t restore the admin username and password. Other
methods for initializing the TeraStation are described below.
Initializing from Settings
To initialize the TeraStation to its factory defaults from Settings, follow this procedure.
In Settings, click Management.
