Instruction manual for 12V motion detector 120
o
Dear customer,
with this 12V motion detector, you have made an excellent decision. It is specially suitable for caravans, Mobil
homes, boots etc.
Operation:
• The motion detector switches the connected lighting on automatically, if persons or other heat sources move
within its coverage. Stationary heat sources do not switch on the connected lighting.
• The twilight switch is adjustable and ensures that the motion detector optionally works during the day and
night, or only during darkness.
• Furthermore, the integrated timer allows the connected lighting to be externally set from approximately 5
seconds to approximately 15 minutes.

Installation and initial operation
The mounting (installation) should only be carried out by an expert (electrician), in accordance with the VDE
(Association of German Electrical Engineers) regulations. Work must only be done in a voltage free condition
and when absolutely disconnected from the mains power supply. Check whether the connecting cable is voltage-
free.
Assure yourself that the maximum load will not exceed 10A.
Fasten the bottom part of the housing with the supplied big screws onto the desired object. (fig./ Abb.1). In case
of wall mounting instead of ceiling mounting, the cable lead in points must face down. Insert sealing gasket (fig./
Abb.2) and the terminal connector. Insert the cable through the gasket and connect to the terminal.
Depending on the selected mounting position (ceiling/wall) open from the front part of the housing one of the
two knock out holes (fig./ Abb.3) and pass the cable of the PIR unit through the hole. Fasten the PIR unit with
the threaded ring. Connect the cable according to fig. 4+5. Close the housing with the two small screws and
switch on the power supply. If everything has been done correctly the connected light will go on immediately.
Test mode
After applying power the motion detector switches the connected light on for approx. 15 sec. After this
calibration time the motion detector is ready for use. For testing please adjust the setting as follows:
•  Time to minimum (-)
•  Twilight (Lux) to sun symbol
Adjust the motion detector by moving the PIR unit horizontal and vertical until the desired position is found. The
range setting can be additionally adjusted by using the METER setting.
After the motion detector switches the light off it needs approx. 3 sec until it registers a further movement.
Please consider this delay during testing.
If the motion detector registers a movement when it is still switched on, the timer will restart from null.
Test the setting by a person moving on the boarders of the surveyed area.
Settings (Fig. / Abb. 6)
METER = Range
Turn in + direction for maximum range = approx. 10m. Additionally the range can be changed by down/up
tilting the PIR Unit.
LUX = Twilight switch
Turn to moon symbol for night time operation and to sun/moon symbol for day and night operation. Settings in-
between can be used for different dusk values.
