TIME = On time after movement has been detected
Turn to – for approx. 5 sec. and turn to + for approx. 15 min.
Hint
Do not mount the motion detector on the mast of a boot as the reflecting water and the movement of the boot
will cause faulty switching.
Important
A movement detector works according to the principle of passive, infrared technology. The movement detector
registers heat sources in its coverage, via a PIR sensor.
Please take the following advice into account for mounting:
Mounting height:
Attach above the recommended mounting height expands the range
Attach below the recommended mounting height reduces the range
Ambient temperature:
All given values are based on an ambient temperature of approximately 18°C
Temperature above 18°C reduces the range
Temperature below 18°C expands the range
Weather factors:
During rain, snow and fog the range reduces
During wind faulty switching is possible due to warm air currents
Optimal detection:
Movement directly towards the sensor can not be optimal detected thus the range is reduced.
Movement parallel to the sensor can be sensed better. Therefore it is recommended to place the motion detector
in a way that people move parallel in its detection pattern.
Troubleshooting
Motion detector switches too late
detection range setting
frontal movement
- regulate detection range by turning
the motion detector
Does not reach maximum range
motion detector mounted too
low
difference in temperature
between surrounding and
source of heat too low
- observe recommended mounting
height.
Permanent light on or unintended
switching off light
- Permanent thermal movement
The detection range covers areas which should not be detected, e.g.
sidewalks, streets etc. Unexpected changes of sources of heat due to
wind, rain or ventilators. Influence by direct or indirect sunlight.
No reaction as car is approaching
car motor still cold
motor is strong isolated
GEV Equipment guarantee
GEV products are tested to comply with the applicable regulations. They are manufactured to rigorous standards.
The GEV Equipment guarantee comprises 36 months, dating from purchase of the equipment by the end user. The equipment
guarantee can only be granted if the unmodified equipment is sent with post and packing to GEV, accompanied by the receipt
and this guarantee card (with date of purchase and dealers stamp). Please enclose a short, written description of the fault with
the equipment being complained about.
For a valid claim against the guarantee, GEV will choose to either repair the equipment within a reasonable time or to replace it.
If the claim against the guarantee is made incorrectly (e. g. after expiry of the guarantee period, or a fault not covered by the
claim against the guarantee), than GEV will seek to economically repair the equipment.
The guarantee naturally does not apply to natural wear and tear, modifications by weathering or damage incurred by
transportation. It also does not apply to damage which results from non-compliance with the fitting instructions or installation not
complying with VDE regulations. Lights, battery and accumulators supplied with the equipment are not covered by the
guarantee. GEV is not liable for indirect or consequential damage, nor for damage to property.
The equipment being complained about must be
sent directly to the dealer or dispatched with post
and packing to the responsible service centre
(the address is obtainable from your dealer)
