RECORDING/PLAYBACK ON HDD DECK
Basic Recording
A
Turn on the recorder.
Press 
1

● The button corresponding to the previously selected deck 
lights on the recorder.
B
Select the HDD deck.
Press HDD.
● The HDD button lights on the recorder.
C
Choose a programme.
Press PR +/– or the number keys to select the channel 
you wish to record.
● When you switch channels on the HDD deck, the picture 
appears a few seconds behind. It is not a malfunction.
D
Set the recording speed.
Press MODE (
p).
● For details on the recording speed, see page 23.
E
Start recording.
Press and hold 
7 and press 4 on the remote control, or 
press 
7 on the recorder.
● The HDD recording indicator lights on the recorder.
F
Stop recording.
Press 
8.
● The HDD recording indicator turns off.
● There may be a few seconds’ delay in resuming normal screen. 
It is not a malfunction.
NOTES:
● It is not possible to record a TV programme on both the HDD 
deck and the VHS deck simultaneously. In addition, it is not 
possible to record simultaneously from the same external 
input.
● It is not possible to pause recording on the HDD deck while 
recording from the channels other than L-1F-1DUB
(
pg. 59, 63)
● While recording a programme, you can play back the 
previously recorded part by “Live Memory Playback” 
(
pg. 26).
● Turn on the TV and select the AV mode.
● If the recorder is turned on with HDD deck selected, 
there may be about 30 seconds’ delay in starting to 
show pictures on the screen.
