If only one ISDN B channel can be connected, for instance, if your Internet
provider does not support multi-link PPP connections, no unambiguous message
to this effect is returned.  To find out whether both B channels were connected,
double-click the Dial-Up Networking icon in the Windows 95/98 task bar.  If
desired, select the Details button to connect or disconnect the second B channel
manually.
This technique allows you to increase the transmission capacity to download
large files from the Internet and to reduce it again afterwards to avoid excessive
charges.
Clearing internet connections automatically
Some Internet browsers offer you the option of clearing a connection
automatically when the connection is idle for a certain amount of time.
To activate this option in the MS Internet Explorer 4.x/5.x, click through the steps
below:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Internet -> Connections -> Select modem...
-> Settings... -> Advanced... -> Disconnect if idle for ... minutes
Using MS Money 99 and MS Exchange/Outlook
MS Money 99
MS Money 99 allows the CAPI 2.0 interface to be used directly, so that the virtual
modem of the CAPI Port device driver is no longer necessary.  For more
information, see the MS Money 99 documentation.
Faxing with MS Exchange/Outlook and other Fax Group 3
applications (e.g. WinFax PRO 8.x/9.x)
With the virtual modem  ISDN FAX (G3), the fax function of MS
Exchange/Outlook and other Fax Group 3 applications can be used.  Fax polling
is not supported.
Note:
To use this modem a CAPI device driver software supporting T.30 (Fax
Group 3) is required.
The hardware requirements for Fax G3 are higher than for other CAPI
applications, as the analog/digital conversion is performed by the computer's
CPU. A Pentium computer with 133 MHz and at least 32 MB RAM will provide
optimal performance.
The maximum fax speed depends on the CAPI device driver software, the fax
machine/software on the other side, the line quality and the hardware standard
of your computer.  The CAPI Port Device Driver supports a speed of up to 14,400
Bit/s for receiving and sending faxes.
MS Exchange/Outlook:
When you install MS Exchange/Outlook, specify the
modem ISDN FAX (G3).  No additional settings are required (modem’s default
