Note

❒ Host_name is the name that it was installed with the installation shell script.

To appoint file and print it

% rcp

file_name [file_name...] host_name:filetype=RPS

To print all of the files in a directory

% rcp -r

directory_name host_name:filetype=RPS

❒ You can use wild cards ( * or ? ) for the file name.

ftp

Depending on the number of files to
be printed use the put or mput com-
mands.

Limitation

❒ File names cannot contain “=” or

“,”.

To print one file

ftp> put

file_name file-

type=RPS

❖

To print several files

ftp> mput

file_name

[

file_name...]

Limitation

❒ To print using the mput com-

mand you must first set the
printer emulation to R-PS2. You
cannot print when emulation is
set to IPDL-C.

Note

❒ You can use wild cards ( * or ? )

for the file name with the mput
command.

The following shows an example of
how to print a file using ftp.

Start ftp using the IP address or
host name of the printer.

% ftp

IP_address

word input nothing, and then
press

Set the file transfer mode to bina-
ry.

ftp> bin

Print the file.
